DIY Radio

Ahhh, the days of my youth. There is nothing quite like hearing the first sounds from a radio you build with your own hands...

BBspot - MPAA Lobbying for Home Theater Regulations

This my friends is beyond the pale.

According to MPAA head Dan Glickman:
"Just because you buy a DVD to watch at home doesn't give you the right to invite friends over to watch it too. That's a violation of copyright and denies us the revenue that would be generated from DVD sales to your friends."

BBspot - MPAA Lobbying for Home Theater Regulations

Glickman makes a comment the things are "getting to far out of control." I agree. The MPAA wants you to PAY THEM a FEE because you own a large screen TV and have comfortable seating!!!!!!

Holy @$#*!!!

Stop this! Stop this now!

Parsing Pelosi

The new Speaker states that the Democrats are "prepared to govern."

Hmmmmm, let's just Google a definition:

Govern:

  • regulate: impose regulations;
  • direct or strongly influence the behavior of;
  • exercise authority over;

  • Yep, I think she hit that spot on.

    Re: My previous post

    Holy Crap! A French guy comes up with something a cogent and applicable as that!?!?!?

    Guess it's just the old exception to the rule... ;=)

    Another way of stating it...

    Before desiring something passionately, one should inquire into the happiness of the man who possesses it.

    Two Days ON

    Well, it is two days into the 'new age'.

    I know none of you read this, but just in case, I will say it non-the-less.

    I hope you knew what you were doing, if the outcome is to your liking.

    I will ask you one question.

    Did you vote FOR anything? Did a single one of the many candidates who up-ended the encumbants ever once express a tangible idea of how they would fix things? (I will, for the time being grant the dubious notion that ANYTHING implemented at the Federal level has ever come close to accomplishing it's stated aim. And even fore-go mentioning the overwhelming un-intended consequences that wash away any such benefit like a tide.) Did your candidate state their SOLUTION? Or did you vote for CHANGE. Any change. An ill-defined, nebulous, un-verifiable difference, as if this, in and of itself would be an improvement on the status-quo. ANYTHING is better than this.

    I live in Missouri. I know you have heard of the Senate race that occurred, assuming you have not been under a whole pile of political rocks. The Democrat candidate actually ran ads about how she is going to CHANGE DC politics...

    Good Luck with that...

    And now you have your fondest wish. You are going to get change alright.

    In case they didn't mention it, and as I stated above, I'm sure they didn't, this is what/who you have voted for:

    You have given a whole group of people who BELIEVE fervently in big government a blank check to do whatever they want. This is, I must admit, the mandate's mandate.

    These are people who not only believe in big government, but actually believe that they, and through their over-sight, the big government bureaucrats can and SHOULD run your life. Protect you from yourself, cradle to grave.

    That unfair tax-cut for the rich? Guess what? YOU are that rich person!
    Best we just confiscate a bigger portion of your hard-earned green-backs and re-distribute them to some poor unfortunate soul. (And if that hand-out buys us the voting block that keeps us in office in perpetuity, so much the better.)

    Oh yeah! Change is coming all right.

    P.S. I am NOT planning on moving to some other country. (You know who you are.)
