Dinner, a movie and NET ACCESS!!!!

I'm Baaaaaaaack!!!!

At least it looks that way...

Got home from dinner and a movie out on the lawn of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. They are showing flicks on various Friday nights on a inflatable screen. They call it Shuttlecock Cinema. (Ten years ago a grand outdoor sculpture project was installed. Inspired by the view of the South Lawn and the Museum facade, badminton "birdies," or shuttlecocks, each nearly 18 feet tall, were placed in various positions throughout the Museum’s grounds. The artists’ concept for Shuttlecocks is the idea of the Museum’s expansive green lawn as a playing field, with the building serving as a game "net." Personally, I still don't like them, but I'm just an old curmudgeon, living in the past...) More of a 'happening' than a serious movie experience, but the weather promised to be ideal, quite cool for a July evening in KC. Tonight's selection was Pirates of the Caribbean, a thoroughly adventurous and entertaining romp.

Upon returning home, I checked the cable modem, with little hope of the results. Lo and behold! A rock-steady 'Cable' LED!

A quick cycle of the gateway and a re-tweaking of TCP/IP parameters and here we are!

No clue as to why it started working, just as the lack of sufficient signal had baffled me earlier...

Guess I should not look the horse in the mouth!

AAAAAAAAhhhhh! It's nice to be 'connected' again!

Nite all...
