On this date 229 Years ago the United States Marine Corp was founded.

As the Marine Hymn goes:
From the Halls of Montezuma. (The Mexican War. 1846-1848)
To the Shores of Tripoli. (Operations against the Barbary pirates.)
They have fought their country's battles,
On the Land, the Sea AND in the Air.

The Marine Corp is a unique fraternety, with the ability to bring to bear highly mobile firepower and deploy said firepower with swiftness and certainty.

In short, they kick butt and take names.
